Every single time I walk into the oncologist’s office, so many memories come rushing back.

I remember my first time here like it was yesterday…. I cried sitting in the lobby. I was so frightened. I didn’t know what to expect. Fear gripped me so tightly. Until… HIS sweet peace filled me, I realized how close HE was, and HE faithfully carried me through.

I remember when I came in because the medicines had given me a blood clot. I wasn’t sure what they would do or change. I was nervous and in pain. Until… HIS sweet peace filled me, I realized how close HE was, and HE faithfully carried me through.

I remember the first time I came in for my Lupron shot. I was so nervous. I teared up. I was so scared of how it would affect my body. Until… HIS sweet peace filled me, I realized how close HE was, and HE faithfully carried me through.

Today I walked into the oncologist’s office nervous, because I don’t know exactly what to expect. I’m waiting right now for the doctor to come into the room and I’m reminded of our recent trip to the beach….We rented a boat and explored small islands all around where we were staying. It was amazing!

However, the first afternoon a storm popped up, literally out of nowhere!

My husband said, “The radar doesn’t show a storm!”

“I don’t care what the radar says, we are in a storm!” I responded!

It was frightening!!!! The water was rough and some of the waves came over the boat! The rain pelted us, and it hurt! Kids were hiding under towels on the floor of the boat! One was very teary. We made it through after a short time, scared, cold, and thankful!

The next day we checked the weather closer! But that afternoon, another storm popped up! We knew better how to handle it and what to do. Even thought the rain still hurt, we weren’t quite as scared. There were no tears and we were able to get out of it quicker!

This happened several other times. On the last day, there was (of course) another storm that came from nowhere!!

The one that cried the first day said, “Well, here we go!!” Without fear, he watched the storm around him and even gave advice on which way we should go to get around it!

You know why? Because he had been through the storm before. He had seen that we had made it through safely. He knew he could trust his father to drive him out of the storm. Sure, the rain pelting still hurt as we sped through the water, but he knew that hurt was temporary. He was certain he would be safe.

Today, I know the ONE that will get me safely through the storm. How? Because HE has carried me through so many times before. Sure, it may hurt and there may be times where some fear creeps in, but HIS sweet peace will fill me, I will realize how close HE is, and HE will carry me through… because HE is faithful. Always.

Can I remind you..Whatever storm you might be facing, whether you saw it coming or it popped up out of nowhere… HE is faithful. Your Heavenly Father will fill you with HIS peace. HE will be ever so close. And HE will carry you through.

Always.
