As I was headed home yesterday from the doctor’s office, mourning because I’m now in isolation for Christmas because I have Covid, I remembered this scripture that has stood out to me all season….
Luke 1:24-25
“Shortly after his return, Elizabeth became pregnant. She avoided public contact for the next five months.
Elizabeth: I have lived with the disgrace of being barren for all these years. Now God has looked on me with favor. When I go out in public with my baby, I will not be disgraced any longer.”
I keep thinking about this verse and that Elizabeth remained in isolation or “quarantined” for 5 months while her miracle grew inside of her. It makes me wonder, What have we been cultivating while we have been in this pandemic lockdown, avoiding public contact, during 2020?
When we walk out of this…. what will others see?
Will we be bitter, angry, or afraid?
Will we be no different than before?
Will we continue to live in the “disgrace of being barren,”
Maybe not of a physical baby, but barren of purpose?
Or
Could it be that when you come out from this lockdown
Or this Hurt
Or this Disease
Or this Financial Hardship
Or this Crisis
Or this Relationship
Or this Pain
Or this Change
Or this Ending
Or this Sickness
Or this Struggle . .
YOU WILL BE WALKING IN YOUR DESTINY?
This is what I hear… but not just for myself…
Don’t Waste This Time!
GOD Has Shown You Favor!
You’re Going To Walk Out Again, But They Will No Longer See Your Barrenness!
You Won’t Be Empty Handed Anymore!
The World Is Going To See You Carrying Your Purpose!
