“Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?”‭‭ Song of Songs‬ ‭8:5‬a

As I was l was lying on the radiation table I was thinking about this scripture, and it was almost as if I could see it.

I could imagine myself in the distance walking out of my wilderness, leaning on my beloved, Jesus. You know what I thought?

Yes, I’m coming out of my wilderness, but Wow! I sure look worn out

And tired

And sore

And overwhelmed

And burnt

And exhausted

And a mess

And weak

As soon as I thought weak, I heard, “Leaning isn’t a sign of weakness. Leaning is a sign of trust. It’s in the wilderness you learn to trust.”

Wow! Because it’s in the wilderness we learn that HE alone is our source, our hope, our salvation, and our strength.

In the wilderness we learn how strong we are has nothing to do with our own strength but on the strength of the one on which we lean.

In the wilderness we learn that in our weakness, HE is made strong.

In the wilderness, we learn that the strongest thing we can do is lean on our Savior, our Beloved!

And so I sang the old song as I left radiation,

“I’m learning to lean, Learning to lean, I’m learning to lean on Jesus! I’m finding more power than I ever dreamed..I’m learning to lean on Jesus!”

Whatever you are facing,

However you are feeling

,Lean on JESUS, my sweet friends.

It’s not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign you trust HIM!

(My sweet girl, Alyssa, drew this for me when I told her about the scripture! 💕)
